Potholes. We know motorists hate them. Tired roads can make even the nicest streets look miserable.

That’s why over the last few years we’ve spent an extra £39 million reducing the number of potholes in the borough’s roads by half. Hundreds and hundreds of roads have been resurfaced as a result.

The Conservative government, of course, have only made things more difficult. Short term funding boosts can’t mask the fact that when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak cut the road resurfacing budget by £400 million.

That means there’s still more to do – which is why Labour councillors are planning a further £16 million investment over the next four years.

But to make sure that money is best spent, we need to hear from you. Which road is your bugbear? Which one seems to have been overlooked for longest and needs doing?

Send us your thoughts and suggestions below – and we’ll make sure they get fed into the plans for consideration.
